The Policy on Employment and Service Access for Persons with Disabilities was developed to make county policy compatible with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and to provide a clear and consistent direction to departments regarding how to address ADA-related issues.
The Policy also directs persons with disabilities to the county’s Diversity and Non-Discrimination Policy Complaint Process for resolution of grievances.
In December 1997, the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners approved Resolution 97-12-777 adopting a countywide policy on employment and service access for persons with disabilities.
