Selection Process

Positions are filled through a selection process. 

Your education and experience will be reviewed based on the information provided on your application materials. It is extremely important that you provide thorough and concise information to be fully considered for vacancies for which you qualify. The information you provide is used as a basis for comparison with other individuals applying for the position. 

Candidates with the most appropriate education and experience are selected to interview. 

All Hennepin County jobs have minimum qualifications that must be met.

Applicants may be required to provide verification of educational history.  Degrees from a U.S. regionally-accredited college or university may be verified with transcripts; applicants with foreign degrees must provide verification by an agency that provides this specialized service.

 

Hiring Process

If hired, your supervisor will inform you of your start date and Human Resources will notify you of the location and time for your new employee orientation. 

All employees hired to new positions serve a promotional probationary period of 6 - 12 months, depending on the position/department.
